Watermedia is my passion! After working in watercolor for twenty-five years, most of my work is now created using liquid acrylic paint and ink on paper, canvas, or board. I also enjoy working in pastel.
I seldom make a preliminary drawing and enjoy experimenting with the paint creating exciting textures and mixtures. I generally do a series of paintings inspired by theme, color, or design. Past series have included close-up views of ocean waves, skyscapes, flowers, abstract figures and landscapes. I paint nearly everyday and if I'm not painting, I'm researching, thinking, talking, and/or reading about art. There's so much to learn!
I have had the pleasure of styding with many fine watercolorists in the San Francisco Bay Area and, after a move to the Mendocino Coast in 2000, continued my studies at the College of the Redwoods and the Mendocino Art Center.
My work has received more than 60 awards in local and regional shows and can be found in collections throughout the United States and Europe.
My art can be viewed at the Artists' Cooperative of Mendocino, Edgewater Gallery in Fort Bragg, Stevenswood Resort in Little River, and the Mendocino Art Center.
